The duration of the course of instruction for the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) shall be two year. • The examination shall be held once a year ordinarily in the month of June/July on such dates as may be notified by the Controller of Examinations. A supplementary Examination for compartment Candidates only shall be held ordinarily in month of December on such dates as may be notified to the recognized colleges.
The minimum qualification for admission to the course shall be as under:- (i) B.Sc. or BSc (Hons.) or B.Sc.(Home Science) or B.Sc.(Agriculture) or B.A with Mathematic or a Master’s degree in Science or Home Science or Mathematics an examination recognized as equivalent to what at least 50% marks in aggregate. OR (ii) B.A or B.A (Hons.) or B.Com. or M.A or M.com examination an examination recognized as equivalent to with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Note:- In case a candidate has passed the Master’s Degree Examination also along with Bachelor Degree, the higher percentage of marks obtained in any of the two will be taken in to consideration while preparing the merit. OR (iii) For Sc/St Candidates atleast 47.5% marks in aggregate.
No one is in employment (whole time, part time, or Honorary Service) shall be allowed to join B.Ed. (Course without taking leave from his institution/office etc.) from the day of commencement of the Academic session to the Conclusion of his examination in practical skill in Teaching. Providing that his condition shall not apply to a candidate who joins the Directorate of Correspondence Courses.
A person, who possesses the qualification laid down in clause 3, has been on the rolls of a college recognized for the course of B.Ed Degree during the academic year preceding the examination and produces the following certificates (Signed by the principal of the College, shall be eligible to appear in the examination) (i) Of good character. (ii) Of having undergone the course of training for the Degree of Bachelor of Education for one academic year at a College recognized for this examination. (iii) Of having attended not less than 75% of the full course of lectures delivered in each subject, Tutorial and practical separately (to be counted up to the last day when the classes break up for the preparatory holidays, via, 7 working days before the commencement of the examination). (iv) Of having submitted reports on the school plant.
